Unike
Unike is more than just a shoebox. It’s a manifesto disguised as packaging. An invitation to do with your hands what we usually only choose with our eyes. Unike is an immersive experience that turns anyone into a designer, a maker, a creator of their own pair of sneakers.
Inspired by Nike’s visual universe, Unike embraces and reinterprets its iconic logo. It plays with the words You, Nike, and Unique to form a new identity and a new relationship with the product: more personal, more intentional, more unique.
The identity of Unike is built from a balance of industrial precision, handcrafted charm, and a theatrical sense of ritual. Inside the box, three layers unfold like chapters in a story. The first holds the tools — 3D printed, hand-sanded, and painted one by one. The second reveals the pre-cut leather pieces and laces. The third cradles the soles, ready for the final step of the assembly. On the inside of the lid, a laser-cut methacrylate panel marks the beginning of the experience. An analog clock tells you when you start. A digital timer counts the minutes invested. A magnetic flap hides the instructions — a quiet nod to craft, time, and process. A symbolic reminder of what it really takes to make something your own.
The entire packaging is handmade: stone cardboard for the structure, wrapped with Fedrigoni papers, screen-printed for the final visual identity. Every detail speaks to the same idea — that sneakers can be more than objects. They can be personal gestures. One-of-a-kind creations.
Unike is not just a box. It’s a statement. A new way of understanding what we wear, and how it’s made. It brings us back to the origins of design: thinking, cutting, stitching, assembling, wearing. And seeing your sneakers with new eyes.
